The process of admissions in all IISERs is managed by the Joint Admissions Committee (JAC), headed by a Chairman and having members from all IISERs. The details regarding admissions in all IISERs can be obtained at www.iiseradmission.in
Students are admitted to the programme through the following channels:
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Basic Science Stream: Candidates having a valid KVPY fellowship are eligible to apply for admissions. Additional cut off criteria may be applicable.
Joint Entrance Exam (Advanced): Candidates in General category securing a rank within 10000 in the Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE Advanced are eligible to apply. For candidates belonging to reserved category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PD), their category rank would be used. Additional cut off criteria may be applicable.
State and Central Boards: Students who have passed (10+2) level with science stream during the current or previous year with marks equal or above the cut off percentage in their respective boards are eligible to apply.
Indian nationals and students belonging to PIO or OCI category are eligible to apply provided they satisfy the eligibility criteria described above.
KVPY scholars admitted to IISERs would draw fellowship as per KVPY norms. In addition, a limited number of INSPIRE scholarships will be available for candidates admitted through JEE Advanced and SCB channels as per the norms prescribed by DST INSPIRE scheme.
IISERs follow Government of India rules regarding reservation for seat allocation in Central institutes of higher education.

Admission to the M.Sc. programme will be made once a year during July/August. Advertisement would be floated between March/April.

Applications are invited for admission to M.Sc programme in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, and Mathematics for the semester commencing from August 2022.
Students must have Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or Cumulative Grade Point Average/Cumulative Performance Index (CGPA/CPI) 7.0 in a 10 point scale.
Candidates who have passed their graduate examination in the preceding year or appearing in the final year examination of their Bachelor’s Degree can apply.
Starting from the academic year 2022-23, IISER Bhopal is offering a 2-year Master's program in Biotechnology to eligible Bachelor's degree holders aspiring to achieve a strong foundation in research and analytical skills in core areas of Biotechnology. This program aims to broaden understanding of the interplay between microbial processes and the molecular basis of functioning of living organisms and biosystems. These two years'Master's degree programs consist of foundational, advanced, elective courses and research projects mentored by our faculty members. The program is designed to empower students with modern techniques for research, preparing them to lead an independent carrier in both industry and academia.

Out of the four semesters, the first three semesters will cover mandatory foundation, subject-specific and elective courses. Students are also expected to complete rigorous laboratory practical courses and interdisciplinary courses from a discipline like Humanities to improve scientific communication skills. The final semester will be dedicated to research project work.
Selection of applicants for admission to the M.Sc. programme will be based on a written test and/or oral interview of the short-listed candidates.

The Department of Chemistry at IISER Bhopal is glad to introduce a Masters program (M.Sc. in Chemistry) starting 2022-23 academic year. This opens up the opportunity for Bachelor of Science degree students to experience the integrated learning of Chemistry and its application in research and development. The program is focused towards preparing the next generation of scientists spanning the wide spectrum of Chemistry skilled with fundamental understanding and hands-on experience. The two-years program includes the first three semesters of course work across basics and advanced Chemistry courses. The final semester centers around a research project within the department that provides the necessary outlook to solve critical problems. With well equipped research facilities and internationally trained faculties, IISER Bhopal Chemistry provides an ambient and competitive environment for students.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA/CPI of 7.0 on a 10 point scale, obtained not earlier than 2021. Candidates appearing in the final year examination of their Bachelor’s Degree in 2022 are also eligible to apply. Additionally, the applicants should qualify for the nationwide aptitude test, Joint Admission Test in Chemistry for M.Sc. (JAM), and the JAM rank MUST be valid at the time of admission. However, departments may impose additional criteria of National Level Examination like Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) and Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) for admissions in respective departments.
